Who Said What As Parliament Winter Session Begins Today (X/ANI)

New Delhi: Parliament Winter Session started today on December 1. The Parliament Session is scheduled to be held till December 19, announced the parliamentary affairs minister Kiren Rijiju.

Ahead of the parliament winter session, BJP MP from Deoria, Shashank Mani Tripathi said, "We have good expectations from this session... I hope that we will debate the issues facing the public, Vande Mataram and other bills. I urge everyone to maintain the decorum of a democracy so that this session proceeds smoothly... People of Bihar have given their verdict on the SIR by giving NDA more than 200 seats. Opposition needs to learn that if they do not listen to the voice of the people, they will continue to be in the opposition..."

BJP MLA-elect, Maithili Thakur said, "It is a very big day for me as I will become an MLA after taking oath today. It is the beginning of a new life today."

Congress MP Jebi Mather said, "National security is at stake. Under the nose of the Home Minister and Prime Minister, we saw the Delhi bomb blast. It cannot be taken lightly. The failure, negligence, and mismanagement are very evident, and they need to be discussed... The second most important thing is SIR, which is now taking lives as well and on multiple occasions, we have been repeatedly asking that the SIR needs to be discussed, but the government has not been taking that issue at all... These are the issues which need a discussion. Let's see whether the government would be willing for that..."

Ahead of the parliament session, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra talking about pollution said, "I feel this is a shameful situation. This is the capital city of our country. Let us set aside our political differences, and we should take some strong steps. How can we do this to our children? There are 22 lakh children today who have permanent damage to their lungs, according to a study. Old people, people with asthma and other respiratory issues are suffering. Hospitals are full of people with respiratory issues. How can we sit and do nothing about it?... We are here to support the government if they do it. Central government and state government must take immediate action."

Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad said, "...The main issues of the public should be discussed in the Parliament, like the SIR where the names of voters are being deleted, this is an attack on the Constitution of India..."
